Donati Luxury Tower in Condé Nast Traveller: a story of hospitality

We are delighted to share that Donati Luxury Tower has been featured in Condé Nast Traveller, the prestigious international magazine dedicated to travel and hospitality.

Our residence appears in Traveller Destinations: Europe, published on 6 October 2026 as part of the On The Move initiative. The feature highlights some of Donati Luxury Tower’s most distinctive qualities: its location in Florence’s historic centre, its connection to the past, and its panoramic rooftop terrace overlooking the Duomo.

A story spanning centuries

In Piazza Sant’Elisabetta, just a few steps from the Duomo, the story of Donati Luxury Tower begins in the 11th century, when the Ricci and Donati towers stood in medieval Florence, less than a metre apart and belonging to two rival families.

The Donati family, whose members included Gemma, the wife of Dante Alighieri, left a significant mark on the city’s history. A legacy that can still be found today in the architecture and interiors of our residence.

Careful restoration has preserved this heritage while creating twelve suites, where fine materials, Italian craftsmanship and contemporary comfort coexist with the traces of the past.

A different perspective on Florence

Staying in the historic centre offers the freedom to explore Florence at your own pace. The Duomo is just a short walk away, as are some of the city’s most famous squares, artisan workshops and streets. And between visits, the opportunity to return to your suite makes even a short break a pleasure.

There is also another side of Florence to discover, seen from our panoramic rooftop terrace, with its views across domes, bell towers and centuries-old rooftops. Reserved for our guests, this space features a sensory whirlpool bath and offers a peaceful place to unwind while admiring the city from a different perspective.

The stay can be further enriched with tailor-made experiences, from private tours exploring Florence to a dinner prepared in the comfort of your own suite.

These are some of the details that shape our everyday approach to hospitality and are also reflected in the feature published in Condé Nast Traveller.

We would like to thank Condé Nast Traveller for featuring our residence. We are pleased to share this publication with those who already know Donati Luxury Tower, as well as those considering discovering Florence while staying within walls steeped in the city’s history.
